CentralDataVault FastBIT Settings
CentralDataVault's FastBIT binary patching technology reduces the time and bandwith required to perform backups and minimizes your backup storage usage. This allows you to minimize your cost for the service.
NOTE: Additional harddisk space is required to store the FastBIT cache files for differential checking.
FastBIT backups are enabled be default. Following are the settings to ensure that FastBIT backups are used for your backups. Important: The following steps need to be performed once for each backup schedule that you have.
Backup Schedule Options
Open the backup schedules from the Schedules tab.
- Click on the schedule name in the top box. The bottom half of the screen will display the properties of that backup schedule.
- Click on the Other tab in the lower half of the screen.
- Make sure the first selection "Always perform a full backup" is OFF. The three other selections after that should all be ON.
- Click Apply after these changes.
